Replays are a powerful tool that allows you to visually re-create and watch a user's journey on your website or product. By seeing exactly how a user interacts with your application, you can gain deep insights into user behavior, debug issues, and provide more effective support.
The Replays list page serves as your central hub for all recorded user sessions. Each entry provides a snapshot of a user's activity, helping you quickly scan and identify the replays most relevant to you.
Filter by Context: Use the filter to view replays from your website
(e.g., marketing pages) or your product
(e.g., a dashboard or app).
Sort Sessions: Sort the list from the most recent to the oldest to easily find the latest user sessions.
Clicking on any replay in the list will take you to the Replay Player page, your main interface for watching and analyzing a recorded session. This page is divided into two main areas: the playback window and the sidebar.
This is where the user's session is replayed. You'll find the controls to manage your viewing experience:
Playback Controls: Play, pause, and scrub through the timeline to navigate the session.
Playback Speed: Adjust the speed to watch a session at 1x, 2x, 4x, 8x speed.
Skip Inactive: This feature automatically fast-forwards through periods of user inactivity, allowing you to focus only on the moments of interaction.
Fullscreen Toggle: View the replay in fullscreen to see all the details clearly.
The sidebar on the right provides critical context and technical information for each session, helping you get a complete picture.
This section provides a quick summary of the session at a glance. It includes:
Key Stats: A summary of the session's duration, number of interactions, and number of errors that occurred.
Related Sessions: Quickly jump to other recent replays from that same user to track their full journey on your site.
The Timeline is a chronological list of every event that was recorded during the session.
Event Log: See a list of all events, from page views to clicks and form submissions.
Playback Sync: Clicking on any event in the timeline will automatically sync the playback window to the exact moment that event occurred, making it easy to find and debug specific interactions.
The Info section contains all the technical details you need to understand the user's environment and replicate any issues.
Session Details: Includes unique identifiers like the Replay ID, Session ID, and User/Device ID.
User Environment: Shows technical information about the user's setup, such as their browser, screen size, operating system (OS), and country.
